What We Do

Impact Stories

Small Seeds, Big Change

PlantNebraska impacts communities large and small across Nebraska through its tree planting, garden projects and environmental outreach. We plant nearly 1,000 trees in parks, schoolyards and along city streets every year, and our gardens and sustainable landscapes support habitat for tens of thousands of beneficial insects like bees and butterflies as well as a diverse array of wildlife.

But these numbers only tell part of the story. Trees and greenspaces change human lives for the better, creating beautiful, healthy places that foster connection, recreation and joy. The stories below highlight some of the intrinsic benefits of our work, spotlighting how our mission to plant Nebraska for healthy people, vibrant communities and a resilient environment is being lived out in the day-to-day.
