Gardens Transformed- 2018 Young Lecture in Horticulture

Join the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum for a night with Sandra Youssef Clinton for a journey through "Gardens Transformed". Learn about the many landscapes Sandra has designed over the year, with a keen eye to plants and ecology and get inspiration for your own place! The lecture will be followed by a dessert reception.

What gardener is not looking for the element of the unexpected…the “WOW” factor in their garden? Many gardeners fall short in transforming their vision into a lush and imaginative reality. How can we create extraordinary outdoor living spaces and gardens that invite us in? How can we achieve four-season experiences of our own? What choices do we make to create a garden where there is always something of interest taking front stage? Where do the inside and outside meet? How do we create gardens for all creatures to enjoy?

Sandra Clinton’s painterly approach, extensive plant knowledge, and keen eye for proportion and spatial design combine in exuberant gardens that highlight the seasonal rhythms of the landscape and nature. With an understanding of the history of garden design, an astute observation of natural landscapes, and inspirations from extensive world travels, Sandy will share dramatic examples of gardens she has designed with her firm, Clinton & Associates.
