Project Funding

Begin a Trees for Nebraska Towns Project

Please note: the Trees for Nebraska Towns program does not currently have funding available for new applicants.

Trees for Nebraska Towns is geared toward Nebraska community groups who need $5,000-$25,000 to improve their community forests with large-maturing shade trees and companion plants in public spaces. For projects needing less than $5,000, please consider our Ten Free Trees program.

How to Apply

REVIEW PROGRAM CRITERIA
Community groups in need of funding to improve their community forests are eligible for Trees for Nebraska Towns. Successful projects have volunteers, city staff and professionals that work together to complete the process. For more on the program and who should apply, review the Trees for Nebraska Towns Application Guide.

Create a budget for your project.

Don't forget to review the Specification for Partnership Projects to learn what is required during planting as well as the Reimbursement Guidelines.

Create a Plan
Get to know your site and its surroundings, then use what you find out to set goals. You must have a thoughtful plan drawn to scale that indicates the placement of each tree and the location of the project within your town. Professional designs are not required but are encouraged.
