Guided Tour of Maxwell Arboretum

Join us over the noon hour on May 29 for a tour of Maxwell Arboretum on UNL's East Campus led by Forestry Lecturer Ann Powers. It will be a wonderful time to journey through the Arboretum under the shade of the gentle giants as well as observe the new trees that have been planted recently. Maxwell Arboretum has a unique collection of trees, shrubs and perennials—you won't want to miss this chance to learn more about them and ask questions. Please Support the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum This Give to Lincoln Day:
While this is a free tour, we welcome donations to our Give to Lincoln Day fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support our internship program, which pays university students to work with our staff in various areas throughout the year. They gain experience in our greenhouse and at planting projects throughout the state and develop employment skills that give them a leg up when they enter the workforce upon graduation. Many of our interns have gone on to have amazing careers in the horticulture field (and beyond!) throughout the country.
Please give today to support this program! Donation Link: https://www.givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/nebraska-statewide-arboretum
Event Details:
We will meet at the Gazebos located at the entrance to Maxwell Arboretum. The best way to get there is to turn on to Dairy Store Drive from Holdrege and then turn right (east). The Gazebos will be on your left. There is ample metered visitor parking and handicap parking along East Campus Loop.
We will have refreshments available at the conclusion of the tour.
Please be prepared to walk outside and bring water and sunscreen. We will be on paved paths for most of the tour, but there may be some uneven ground when we want to get up close to the trees.
