 . It will be a wonderful time to journey through the Arboretum under the s
 hade of the gentle giants as well as observe the new trees that have been 
 planted recently. Maxwell Arboretum has a unique collection of trees\, shr
 ubs\, and perennials so you won't want to miss this chance to learn more a
 bout them and ask questions. \n\nWhile this is a free tour\, we welcome do
 nations to our Give to Lincoln Day fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $20\,0
 00 to support our internship program. This program pays university student
 s to work with our staff in various areas throughout the year. They gain e
 xperience in our greenhouse and at planting projects throughout the state 
 and develop employment skills that give them a leg up when they enter the 
 workforce upon graduation. Many of our interns have gone on to have amazin
 g careers in the horticulture field (and beyond!) throughout the country.
