Spring Affair Preview Party

The Preview Party is a great way to support the Arboretum while giving you first choice of 700+ plants. Ticketed meal 6-8pm includes a taco bar with Mexican-inspired appetizers and desserts. Talk to fellow gardeners and leisurely browse the plants or get help from plant experts to find just the right plant for even tough spots. In part, this is a fundraiser for the Arboretum’s programs and affiliate gardensTickets are non-refundable. Sales Tax is included in the price of ticket.

Midwest’s largest plant sale and gardening event has free admittance plant sale 9-2 Saturday, April 28. More than 700 varieties of perennials, herbs, grasses, trees, shrubs... selected for regional suitability, uniqueness & demand provided by Bluebird Nursery of Clarkson, Neb. Sponsored by Nebraska Statewide Arboretum as an educational tool, fundraising event & to promote regional plants. Plant sale, talks, booths & garden-related vendors are in Pavilion I with plenty of free parking.

Brownbag on Permaculture--Holistic Landscaping

Permaculture was founded in the 1970s as a response to destructive industrial agriculture practices. Permaculture is a holistic attempt to integrate biology, ecology and human culture for environmental good. It can be as simple as growing sprouts on a windowsill or as complex as running a bioregion. Presenters Gus Von Roenn of Omaha Permaculture and Forester Graham Herbst will talk about its ideology and practice, with tips for careful and beneficial landscape practices.
